We are delighted to announce that as Be the Planet Foundation, we will be making a donation to 'Friendship', an NGO dedicated to creating a better world, particularly in remote areas of Bangladesh. 'Friendship' is renowned for its tremendous commitment to providing essential services such as medical care to people who otherwise have limited access to these and other basic needs.

One of the projects that 'Friendship' undertakes, and for which we are specifically contributing, is training women in remote areas to become health workers. These women are not only trained to provide basic care, but they also have the opportunity to earn their own income through this work. Additionally, health and hygiene products are made available to them, which they can use within their communities. This enables them to care for themselves and their families and to improve the health of their communities.

This project is a significant step for our Foundation. It is our first project since we defined our new direction last year.

In March, René Mulder (Secretary) and Willemieke Bos (Chair) personally met with 'Friendship' during a trip. “We were moved by the dedication and impact of this aid organization. We were particularly enthusiastic about their practical solutions to some of the world's most pressing challenges. It was an inspiring experience that convinced us to collaborate with 'Friendship' and support their efforts to bring about positive change in communities worldwide.

Be the Planet Foundation believes it is important not only to impact the production of our clothing but also to enhance the wellbeing of people in the countries where we produce. Together with the factories we work with, we ensure that workers can operate in safe conditions and are treated well. Additionally, we aim to take an extra step to help the people in the countries where we produce, and this project with 'Friendship' provides an excellent opportunity for that.

With our donation to 'Friendship', we have a direct impact on the lives of those who need it most. We chose to support this specific project because we believe in the power of empowerment and improving lives. By helping these women, we not only contribute to the health of entire communities but also provide opportunities for economic growth and social progress. Together, we can make a difference and contribute to a world where equal opportunities and access to healthcare are a given for everyone.”
